Job Description:
Responsibilities include maintaining a productive, high quality and customer focused Civil Engineering discipline/department from current practice to best practices for diversified market sectors. You will manage a wide variety of projects from the initial design phase through to the on-site contract administration as it relates to Civil Engineering. Candidates must have experience in the design of all aspects of civil design, site servicing (storm, sanitary, water and utilities) and hydraulic modelling for clients in educational, commercial, industrial, and healthcare markets and shall be able to prepare civil working drawings, construction details and specifications, in a collaborative and team environment. The candidate should be self-motivated, sincere, conscientious and detail-oriented with strong communication skills in a professional manner. Candidates should have sound organizational skills and enjoy working on technical aspects of civil design projects in a fast-paced and supportive environment within a multi discipline team. Must be highly experienced with Autodesk Civil 3D, SSA Design suite, PC SWMM, Revit, BIM and AutoCAD software (latest edition), and proficient with MS Office productivity software. A strong familiarity with the Ontario Building Code and knowledge of building science and civil detailing, along with a strong motivation for continual learning. A familiarity with project management of a wide variety of projects including land development, infrastructure assessment & development and rehabilitation. Experience in shoreline management/flood and erosion control and flood plain mapping using GeoHECRAS and HEC-RAS would be an asset as well as familiarity with Town/Municipalities/ Conservation Authorities design standards and legislative requirements across Ontario would be an asset. This position will lead to a senior role with the capacity to lead and manage multiple projects as part of the growth plans of the company.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Ontario licensed P. Eng. in good standing
- 10+ years’ experience in civil analysis, design and detailing.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Knowledge and experience producing 3D models and 2D civil drawings.
- Experience in structural detailing an asset
- Require knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative, critical and pragmatic thought
- Strong focus on quality and the ability to check your own work and work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
